How Much Money Will Avengers Endgame Make

With Avengers: Endgame on the horizon, the long-awaited culmination to a decade-long saga is now within reach. However, as fans anxiously anticipate the finale, a bitter realization simultaneously settles in: this is it. This is the last Avengers movie that will feature all the original and pivotal players (so they say). So, what next?

Instead of focusing on the overwhelming sadness that begins to fill your heart – as for Harry Potter fans, here we go again – attend to all the other great superhero movies on the horizon (within and outside of Marvel).

While all superhero movies released around Endgame are bound to pale in comparison, it does not mean that they aren't worth your time. The list below will highlight five superhero movies, in addition to Endgame, that are bound to be epic.

1) 'Shazam!' (April 5, 2019)

Currently boasting a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, according to critics, it appears that DC has released a successful superhero film once again. While often failing to rival its counterpart Marvel, Wonder Woman excelled and put DC back on the map. With Shazam! releasing to impressive critical reception, it looks like the DC cinematic universe may finally be finding its footing.

Shazam follows a 14-year-old Billy Batson who transforms into his superhuman self by shouting out the word "SHAZAM!" Zachary Levi plays a hero with the mentality of a 14-year-old, and while he immediately is excited to test out his newfound powers, he is forced to mature (just enough) before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Batson's abilities.

2) 'Dark Phoenix' ( June 7, 2019)

Dark Phoenix –  starring the actress behind the beloved Game of Thrones character Sansa Stark – features Sophie Turner in the title role. Now that Disney owns the rights to the X-Men franchise, many anticipate this film to blow former X-Men movies out of the water. However, no one will deny that Logan and First Class were masterpieces.

Alongside Sophie Turner, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will reprise their roles as Professor X and Magneto respectively. Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are set to return as Mystique and Beast.

The movie will follow Jean Grey who, when traveling in outer space, is nearly killed by a powerful force. Rather than losing her life, her powers intensify while her ability to control them remains out of reach. Jean Grey spirals out of control. Coming to inflict harm on her fellow X-Men, she forces her clan to face off against one of their own.

3) 'Spiderman: Far From Home' (July 5, 2019)

If you just can't get enough of the Avengers, at least you won't have to wait too long before seeing Spiderman come to the rescue once again.

Spiderman: Far From Home will follow Peter Parker's relaxing European vacation turned heroic mission. When Fury winds up in Parker's hotel room and explains that he must prevent Mysterio from destroying the continent, the spidey suit that was supposed to be on the hanger for a bit comes out to play.

4) 'The New Mutants' (August 2, 2019)

While not much is known about the upcoming film The New Mutants, it is set to combine the horror and superhero genres. The movie will be based on the comic book series of the same name and star Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Anya Taylor Joy (Glass, The Witch), and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things).

The movie will follow five young mutants who, upon discovering their mutant abilities, are held captive in a secret facility against their will. So, maybe the movie will be a mix of AHS: Asylum and X-Men. Sounds interesting.

5) 'Gambit' (March 13, 2020)

While Gambit was scheduled for a March 2020 release, the film has been put on hold since Disney acquired 21st Century Fox; however, given the widespread interest in this character, his story will definitely see the silver screen.

While the plot for the Gambit movie is still unknown, the comic book series follows a character with the ability to mentally create and control kinetic energy. In the comics, the character was part of a thieves' guild before joining the X-men, so it's likely the movie will start there, as it is expected to be an origin story. Channing Tatum is slated to portray the title character.
